Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated Software Engineering Intern to join our engineering team in Kandy (physical work environment). This role provides hands-on exposure to modern full-stack development using ReactJS, TypeScript, NodeJS/NestJS, and PostgreSQL, while working closely with experienced engineers on real production systems.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in developing and maintaining web applications using ReactJS and TypeScript.
Support backend development using NodeJS or NestJS.
Work with PostgreSQL databases, including writing queries and understanding schemas.
Collaborate with the team to implement new features and fix bugs.
Follow best coding practices and participate in code reviews.
Learn and use tools such as Git for version control.
Contribute to documentation and development tasks as required.

Skills & Qualifications

Required

Undergraduate or recently graduated student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Basic knowledge of JavaScript / TypeScript.
Familiarity with ReactJS fundamentals.
Basic understanding of NodeJS (knowledge of NestJS is an advantage).
Exposure to relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
Willingness to work on-site in Kandy.
Strong interest in learning, problem-solving, and software development.

Preferred

Experience with REST APIs
Familiarity with ORMs (TypeORM, Prisma, etc.)
Basic understanding of software development best practices
Personal or academic projects related to web development
